Poppy Van Oorde-Grainger
Poppy first gained national recognition as winner of the Fremantle Print Award and later the Australia Council Kirk Robson Award for leadership in community arts and cultural development. Projects Poppy has written, directed and produced include Galup (Perth Festival, 2021), Two Sands (SBS, 2022), Ngaluk Waangkiny (ABC, 2022) and Galup VR Experience (Slamdance, 2023). With a deep commitment to working with Indigenous communities and people from diverse cultural backgrounds, Poppy excels in fostering collaboration and amplifying underrepresented voices. Her approach to storytelling is informed by her ability to sensitively and respectfully engage with people from various cultural contexts, ensuring authenticity and inclusion in her projects. Poppy has completed a BA Fine Arts, Graduate Diploma in Primary Education, and BA in Film and Television.
